Upgrade From an Older Version

Upgrade the Milestone Calendar

Your Milestones Calendar purchase includes free upgrades for one year. Follow the instructions below to determine if you are eligible. If you choose not to upgrade after the one year period, you may continue using your current version indefinitely. While I encourage all users to use the most recent version, your existing version will never expire.

The current version 2.7 was released Jan 8, 2024 - What's New?

Step 1: Find your registration date

Click the About button in the title bar of your existing version, or refer to the registration email you received when you purchased.

Step 2: Renew Your Registration - If Needed

If your registration date is LESS than one year old, you may upgrade for free (Proceed to step 3).
If your registration is more than one year old, Visit the Order Page to purchase a new registration.

Step 3: Install The New Version

  1. Close your old version of Milestones by right clicking the Milestones icon in your taskbar tray, then select Exit from the popup menu.
(You will not be able to install the new version if your old version is open and running.)
  2. Download the new trial version. (The trial version is also used to upgrade registered programs.)
  3. Open the installation program, and follow the prompts to install.
  4. Open the Milestones icon on your desktop, click the About button in the title bar, then click the Enter Code button. Enter your registration code and click OK. You should see a message thanking you for your support.

How to import records from Milestones 1.x

If you are upgrading from Milestones 1.x you will need to import your old calendar records manually.

  1. Click the Options tab, then click the Import Events From Milestones 1.x button. If your previous version was installed to the default location, Milestones should open to the msdata folder. If you installed elsewhere, you will need to locate the old Milestones installation and open the msdata folder.
  2. Select the event10.dat data file and click OK. Your old events will be merged into the new calendar.
Assuming everything proceeds normally, the new version should now include the events from your old version. When you are confident everything is working well, you may uninstall any old versions using the "Uninstall a Program" applet in Windows control panel ("Add or Remove Programs" applet on Windows XP).
